Known as one of Canada's greatest voices, JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter Molly Johnson has captivated audiences all over the globe with her distinct voice and authentic stage presence. Fresh off the heels off her latest studio album release, 'Meaning To Tell Ya', produced by GRAMMY Award-winning Producer, Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Madeleine Peyroux, Melody Gardot, Norah Jones), Molly is thrilled to present her next project, in which she will join forces with Canada's finest symphonies. This program features selections from Molly's extensive catalogue of beloved originals as well as favourites from the Great American Songbook. Molly had an opportunity to play with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with a handful of these charts to great acclaim.

Joining Molly on this venture is her long-time band of friends and JUNO Award-winning collaborators, starting first with bassist and composer Mike Downes. Along with numerous releases under his own name, Downes has worked with some of the most memorable names in jazz including Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, and Kenny Wheeler. All symphony charts associated with this project were arranged by Mike Downes and Steve MacKinnon. On piano is another JUNO Award-winning Hungarian-Canadian artist, pianist and composer Robi Botos, who has shared the stage with Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Branford Marsalis, Christian McBride and more. Lastly, on the drums is another one of Molly's long-time collaborators, drummer and composer, Davide DiRenzo, who has been a first-call drummer for the likes of Tom Cochran, Holly Cole, Alanis Morissette, Carol Welsman, and Sarah Slean to name a few. Molly is proud to present her Molly Johnson Songbook symphony show, now booking through 2021 into 2022.
