TORONTO, ON, [October 15th, 2026] – On Saturday, November 21st from 5:00pm–7:00pm, the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area (BY BIA) and Molly Johnson celebrate the return of the holiday season with Holiday Magic, a free, family-friendly outdoor concert and lighting ceremony taking place on Cumberland Street and the Village of Yorkville Park. Hosted by Televsion Personality Melissa Grelo and in support of The Common Table, the annual community celebration will feature a special headline performance by iconic Canadian jazz vocalist Molly Johnson, alongside the annual “Flick the Switch” Lighting Ceremony.

Recognized as one of Canada’s greatest voices, Molly Johnson is a celebrated singer-songwriter, artist and philanthropist whose career spans decades. With nine studio albums to her name, including the holiday album “It’s A Snow Globe World” (2021), and fan-favourite songs such as “Miss Celie’s Blues,” “Inner City Blues” and “Lucky,” Johnson is celebrated for her distinctive blend of jazz, soul and original songwriting. Her many accolades include two JUNO Awards, the Governor General’s Award, the Order of Canada and the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Her latest album, “Talk to Me,” features collaborations with Haviah Mighty and Jim Cuddy, alongside new recordings including her holiday single, “Holiday.” Opening for Molly Johnson will be the Senior Choir of The Rosedale Day School, conducted by Toronto-based music educator and conductor Carlene Brown.

“The holiday season is such an exciting time in Bloor-Yorkville, and Holiday Magic is a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together,” says Janet McCausland, Executive Director of the Bloor-Yorkville BIA. “We’re proud to bring our members, neighbours and visitors together for an evening of festive entertainment and holiday cheer as we kick off the season.”

The BY BIA invites the community to the Village of Yorkville Park on November 21st from 5:00pm–7:00pm for this free outdoor celebration. Continuing with annual traditions, visitors and residents of Bloor-Yorkville can look forward to shopping, dining and experiencing the neighbourhood's art and cultural attractions surrounded by festive holiday lighting, as the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood is transformed with a vibrant display of holiday lights from November 21st through December 31st.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Candy Cane Carolers will bring holiday music to the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood with two sets of strolling carolers performing on December 4–6, 11–13, 18–20, 22 and 23. Known for their high-energy, four-part a cappella harmonies, the group performs a repertoire of more than 60 traditional and contemporary holiday arrangements and has been featured in Netflix holiday films Christmas Inheritance and The Holiday Calendar.

At the heart of the celebration is The Common Table, a grassroots community initiative operated by the Church of the Redeemer, located at Avenue Road and Bloor Street West. The Common Table provides essential support, dignity and connection to some of the community’s most vulnerable individuals. Holiday Magic will help shine a light on the important work being done in the heart of Bloor-Yorkville.

Adding to the holiday experience, Fleurs de Villes returns to Bloor-Yorkville from December 2–6, 2026 for the Toronto debut of Fleurs de Villes JOYEUX, a fresh floral, self-guided trail throughout the neighbourhood celebrating the joy of the season en fleurs.
